Manchester United ace Rio Ferdinand has been saved from running naked on the street after Cristiano Ronaldo won the Ballon d’Or. Ferdinand had vowed to run naked if his former United mate failed to win the award. Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery were also in the fray to to pip overwhelming bookies’ favourite Ronaldo to the Fifa prize. Ferdinand had made a bold pledge on Twitter: “If @Cristiano doesn’t win the Balon D’or tonight…..I will run down the street butt naked! Won’t be a great sight I tell ya!! Come on CR7! Ronaldo was hot favourite to win the award for the second time, Metro.co.uk reports.
