David Moyes has been sacked on Tuesday morning after he attended a meeting with vice-chairman Edward Woodward, with veteran midfielder Ryan Giggs set to take temporary charge for the weekend visit of Norwich.News broke on Monday evening that Moyes was going to be sacked at the end of the season after a dismal nine months in charge since taking over from Sir Alex Ferguson. However, following the lacklustre 2-0 defeat to Moyes' former club Everton on Sunday, the club's owners the Glazer family deemed that the Scot had lost the dressing room and that immediate action was required to halt their dramatic fall from the top of English football.
For Moyes, it brings an end to a disastrous spell in charge, and the way the axe finally fell on his United career summed up his time in charge of the club - the news was broken by the club's official Twitter account
to rub salt into the already gaping wounds.
