Impeachment: Probe panel dismisses allegations against Al-Makura

The Panel set up by the Nasarawa State Chief Judge, Suleiman Dikko to investigate the alleged misconduct leveled against the Governor of the State, Umaru Tanko Al-Makura by the State House of Assembly controlled by PDP, dismissed all the allegations, Tuesday afternoon.

Reading the final report of the panel at Lafia, the Capital of Nasarawa state, the Chairman of the Panel, Mr. Yusuf Usman said the State Assembly that leveled misconduct allegations against the governor, has failed to present evidences at the floor of the panel.

He said further that the Governor, who appeared in person on Monday, defended himself through documents tendered by his counsels, while the lawmakers, who appeared through their lawyers, said they would not be presenting any evidence before the panel.

The Panel Chairman said since the lawmakers failed to present evidences to back up their allegations, “the case against the governor is hereby dismissed”.

DailyPost recalls that the State Assembly has ordered the Chief Judge Dikko to set up another panel, alleging that the panel headed by Usman has compromised.
