Wow!! Chelsea made £118m summer bid for Messi

According to recent revelations, Chelsea football club made a record breaking £118m bid for FC Barcelona wonder man Lionel Messi during the summer. The Blues were hoping to take advantage of the Argentine's strained relationship with the club following a frustrating season.


Catalan channel TV3 aired a programme called Efectivament revealing that Jose Mourinho wanted to exploit Messi's then uncertain situation and persuaded owner
Roman Abramovich to make an offer to the Catalan club.

However, neither Barcelona top brass or the 27-year-old were interested in the deal, crushing Mourinho's faint hopes.
