Ogun State Governor's convoy in auto crash


The Gover­nor of Ogun State, Senator Ibi­kunle Amosun, yesterday escaped unhurt when his convoy was involved in an accident. However, The accident which reportedly occurred along Saapade-Ogeere Road on the Lagos-Ibadan Ex­pressway at about 9:30 a.m saw two of Gov. Amosun's aides and some occupants of another vehicle injured.

According to reports, an eyewitness stated a commercial bus driver reportedly rammed into the governor's convoy, after loosing control of his bus dam­aging one of the Sport Utility Vehicles (SUVs).

According to the Ogun state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Yusuph
Olaniyonu:

"The accident only involved one of the vehicles at the rear of the convoy. The governor is alive. All other officials are alive. It was just a minor thing. We are already in Ekiti for the inauguration of the new Government House built by Governor Kayode Fayemi.

"Please, help us tell the people that the governor is alive. The calls have been coming from people, asking after his welfare."
