Three male secondary school students in Osogbo, Osun state, have been dragged before an Osogbo Magistrate Court for beating and hauling stones at their teacher to the extent that he suffered ankle dislocation.
The accused students; Haruna Waliu, 19; Adebayo Abeeb, 19; and Oladimeji Tunde, 21 of St. Mark’s Anglican Grammar School Kola Balogun area, Osogbo were said to have descended on their class teacher, Mr. Osho Bamidele Samuel and gave him the beating of his life.
According to the police prosecution who dragged the students to court in their school uniform, they committed the alleged offence on 24th October, 2014 at the premises of St. Mark’s Anglican Grammar School, Kola Balogun Area, Osogbo.
But the accused students pleaded not guilty to the three count charges
of conspiracy, assault and breach of public peace leveled against them by the police. Their counsel, Mr. W. A. Idowu however orally applied for their bail saying the students would not abuse the bail if granted.
The presiding Chief Magistrate, Mr. Muhammed Lasisi, granted each of the accused bail in the sum of N50,000 with two sureties in like sum.
