A man has been arrested, charged and convicted of indecent exposure after he was seen by a woman having sex with a mailbox, prosecutors in the United Kingdom have said.
45-year-old Paul Bennett of Wigan, was also ordered to undergo alcohol treatment at the Leigh Magistrate’s Court.
Bennett pleaded guilty to two counts of indecent exposure, using threatening and abusive words.
Police investigation revealed that the female witnesses heard shouts and insults outside her
apartment and went outside to investigate, when she saw Bennett drunk and arguing with a woman.
After the woman left, Bennett was said to have laid down on a bench and started screaming.
When Bennett saw the witnesses, he stood up, pulled down his pants and performed a sexual act with the nearby mailbox while shouting “wow.”
The witness who was alarmed by his behavior and called the police.
When the police arrived, Bennett was found in front of a shop, still exposed.
Bennett was given a community order for 12 months with an alcohol treatment and monitoring requirement, and was also ordered to pay 50 pounds ($75) compensation to the female witness, 150 pounds ($227) in court costs and 60 pounds ($91) for a victim surcharge.
He is also required to register on the sex offenders list.
