Woman Sells 5-Year-Old Son To Enable Her Raise Money To Travel With Boyfriend

Police in Sri Lanka have arrested a woman and her lover on charges of child trafficking after allegedly selling a 5-year-old boy in order to have enough money to travel around the world.


According to the police investigation, the unidentified mother of Colombo, sold her son to
an undercover police officer for $500. The police were tipped off about the woman’s plans and arranged an undercover sting operation to catch her red handed.


Along with the unidentified mother, her lover and an agent were arrested for conspiracy, after being accused with helping her sell the child.

The police informant learned about the woman’s plans after she and her boyfriend stayed at a cottage, where they looked for potential buyers.
