60-Year-Old Woman In Court For Biting Off Man’s Ear In Zaria

A 60-year-old woman, Nana Shehu was on Wednesday arraigned before an Upper Sharia Court in Zaria for allegedly biting off her neighbour’s right ear!

While testifying in court, the prosecutor, Sgt Ado Ahmad-Kofardoka said the accused committed the offence on May 24 at 11.00 am after she attacked and bite off the right ear of 22 year old Ibrahim Saminu for accidentally hitting her shop with an iron door he was carrying.

In Kofardoka's words:

 “In the ensuing argument, the accused physically assaulted the complainant and in his attempt to
defend himself, the accused pounced on Saminu and bit off his right ear.’’

The accused however pleaded not guilty, and the ruling Judge, Malam Muhammad Aliyu, granted her bail in the sum of N50, 000 with a surety in like sum. The case was adjourned to June 1st for further hearing.
