Angry Father Strangles His Day-Old Baby To Death For Being Born Girl!

A 35 year old man, Rabiu Bello, was said to have strangled his new born baby to death and buried her in his compound after she was given birth to by his wife, Fatima Bello.

According to report, the accused had eagerly waited for a male child but his expectation was dashed when after delivery, the baby turned out to be a female.

Police prosecuting officer, Hashimu Musa, told the court that Rabiu who resides in Dankwaro village of Charanchi LGA of Katsina State, committed the offence at midnight on May 4, 2015. After police
investigation, he was arrested and interrogated and later reportedly confessed committing the offence.

The judge, Nafisa Bagiwa, however ordered him to be remanded in prison and adjourned the case to June 22 for further hearing.
