Muhammad Ali's family has announced that Lennox Lewis, the former world heavyweight champion, would be one of the pallbearers for the ceremony. Lewis remains the last undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.
Award winning actor Will Smith would also act as a pallbearer at the funeral. Smith played the enigmatic athlete in the 2001 film ‘Ali’, a performance which earned him an Academy award nomination.
The other pallbearers would include Jerry Ellis, the brother of Jimmy Ellis- Ali’s former sparring partner and fellow world heavyweight champion- Ali’s cousins John Grady and Jan Wadell, nephew Ibn Ali, former brother-in-law Komawi Ali and family friend John Ramsey.
