Trey Songz Released from Jail Following Arrest for Assaulting a Police Officer

According to Billboard, Grammy Nominated Trey Songz singer was arrested after his concert in Detroit on Wednesday night, December 28, for reportedly assaulting a police officer.

Confirming to the music magazine why Trey Songz was arrested, the police said he was charged
with a felony count of assault on an officer.

From the clip making the rounds on social media, it seems the assault on the officer started after the singer was cut off while still performing at a concert. He sang a warning that no one should ‘cut him off’, and then he went completely crazy, pulling out a glass barrier and flinging it. Perhaps it was at that time the officer was injured?

The singer was arraigned on December 29 and released after posting bond. But he will return to court on January 5, 2017.
