Maje Ayida Hits Toke Makinwa With a N100m Defamation Lawsuit

As reported by The Cable, popular wellness coach, Maje Ayida, whose lawyers previously served Makinwa a letter of demand, has slammed her with a massive lawsuit over her controversial book, On Becoming.

It would be recalled that Maje Ayida employed the services of a British law firm which, in conjunction with a Nigerian law firm, wrote to Toke Makinwa, demanding that she retract On Becoming because ig errornously painted him in dark light. Ayida’s lawyers said that
the copies of the retrieved books be destroyed, and she must cancel its distribution and issue a full page apology to him in 3 national dailies.

However, Toke Makinwa ignored all of these, jetted off to Ghana and later, London to hold book readings.

Maje Ayida, who says the book contains defamatory words that hurt his brand, has filed a suit before the Lagos High Court, asking for N100m in damages.
