My Husband Has Not Touched Me For 2 Years, Dissolve Our Marriage - Woman Begs Court

Bilikisu Lawal, a 30 year old housewife, earlier today told a Mararaba Grade 1 Area Court that she is done with marriage to her husband, Shuaibu Yusuf. Did you just ask why? Well, her husband hasn’t touched her for two solid years.

Bilkisu went on to tell the court that her husband, Shuaibu, whom she got married to in January 2012, and with whom she has a lovely son, has been under-performing in every department of ‘husbandhood’ and ‘fatherhood’.

She said:

“Sometimes in October 2014, about six months after the birth of my son, my husband stopped having sex with me and providing for the family. On several occasions, I have asked what I did wrong, but he will not tell me; in December 2016, he sent me out of the house for no reason. Since then, he never bothered to know where my son and I are staying; neither did he bring money for his son’s upkeep.”

Punch reports that the embittered mother of one says she is tired of living single when she still is married.

“I have been living with my parent and I cannot continue to live as a married woman when my husband does not see me as a wife,” she said.

According to Bilikisu, when she reported him to his family and they cautioned him, he promised to change. But so far, the promise of change ended in the saying. She therefore urged the court to dissolve the marriage and grant her her freedom.

But her husband begged the court not to listen to her. According to him, it is not as if he doesn’t love his wife but financial problems in these trying times has hindered his ability to show it to her. He then asked the court to give him some time to make things right with his wife.

Justice Owuna Musa gave him from now until April 28 to make things right else the case will continue.
