Soldier Driving Against Traffic Shoots Judiciary Worker

Not the real photo
As reported by Punch, a military man shot a judiciary worker identified as Mr. Godwin Udoaka, at Asutan Street, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, around 12:45pm, on Wednesday, after Udoaka, who works in the transport section of the judiciary as a driver, was said to have challenged the soldier for driving against the traffic.

The soldier, who was in a Toyota Hilux vehicle with registration number ABC 222 AY, was said to have come down and opened fire on Udoaka’s vehicle. The bullet pierced through the windscreen
and hit the driver on the head.

Confirming the incidence, The President, Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria in Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Albert Mbebe said:

“The construction company’s vehicle was driving in the opposite direction,  that is, against the traffic. The vehicle refused to go back so that other people could pass. It was the judiciary driver that had the right of way, but the other driver, the soldier, refused to give way.

“While the judiciary driver insisted that the construction company’s vehicle should go back, the soldier came out of the vehicle and shot him. Their aim was to kill the driver. We are happy the driver is in the hospital recuperating, the vehicle is in bad shape.

"There are human beings within the military ranks who are so callous, so power drunk. Because they carry guns, you cannot disagree with them; this is something we must all rise against."
