Lionel Messi Ties The Knot With His Childhood Sweetheart (Photos)

Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi is officially off the market after he tied the knot with childhood sweetheart Antonella Roccuzzo Friday night.

The Argentine ace scored one of his greatest goals at a lavish ceremony in his hometown,
Rosario, attended by some of the biggest names in football and Argentine society.

About 250 guests attended the marriage of Messi and brunette beauty Antonella at the City Centre luxury hotel and Casino, where they were serenaded by famous Argentine singer, Abel Pintos.

Messi’s Barcelona team-mates, including Neymar, Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique who was joined by his wife, Colombian pop star Shakira, were on hand to add colour to the event while some of his ex-teammates like Samuel Eto’o, Carles Puyol, Xavi and Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas were also in attendance.

No fewer than 150 journalists were allowed to cover the event that Argentina’s largest newspaper, Clarin, variously referred to as “the wedding of the year” and “the wedding of the century.” However, it is understood that they had no direct access to the ceremony or the party afterward.

Messi and wife are already blessed with two kids – Tiago and Matteo.
