Man with 67 wives dragged to court for adultery

A 79-year-old man based in Niger, Muhammad Harun Al-Rahman, who became famous few years ago when it was revealed that he was married to more than 70 wives, is now in the news yet again as 67 of those wives have dragged him to court for sleeping with another woman who is not his wife.


The angry women cannot understand what their husband still wants in other women when he has his over-sized harem, and as such, they have filed multiple marital lawsuits against him.

The joint suit allege that the septuagenarian was caught on 19th
September, 2014, having sex with the wife of a neighbour.

When the case was mentioned, the women filed in one after the other and stated that they want to divorce their husband on the grounds of 'unreasonable behaviour' and 'adultery.'

They are applying for an Islamic divorce procedure known as the Khula, which is the right of a woman to seek a divorce from her husband in Islam in exchange for a monetary compensation paid back to the husband by the wife.
