People are shocked to learn that a dead woman’s will orders a friend to kill her dog and bury it with her.
Connie Lay of Aurora, Indiana, who died several weeks ago, left a request in her will that her dog should be euthanized and buried with her.
Her request has angered animal lovers, who do not want the pet to be euthanized. Bella, Lay’s beloved German Shepherd, is still alive.
Bella does not have any medical issues, and is good health. Lay wants the dog to be euthanized, cremated and buried with her or sent to an animal shelter in Utah.
The dog’s life is now in the hands of Lay’s close friend,
who has put the plan to kill the dog on hold. The friend is trying to raise money to send Bella to the Best Friends Animal Society in Utah.
If the friend fails to raise enough money, the dog will be killed. Currently, Bella is at PAWS of Dearborn County Humane Center in Indiana.
PAWS has issued a statement, saying that Bella is still alive and will remain with them until a legal decision is made. (WWWN)
