Election And Post Election Guidelines (A MUST READ)

Election Day

1. Vote early.

2. Leave the polling station for home immediately after you vote.

3. Never stay to be an on-looker at the polling station.

4. Avid crowds and never stay in their midst.

5. Remain camera shy and never grant interviews of any kind on political issues.

6. Never be involved in political thuggery.

7. Never be seen to be campaigning at the polling station – canvassing for support or votes.

8. Do not carry on your person dangerous objects or weapons to the polling station.

9. Avoid confrontation of any sort with law enforcement agents at the polling station.

10. Do not wear apparels that belong to any political party or any political aspirant.

11. Swipe-clean your hands with sanitizers immediately you vote using the electronic card reader.

12. Carry on your person a handkerchief and a bottle of water for heat or crisis emergencies.

13. Carry on you, your bank id card for separation of persons in the event of a mass arrest.

14. Do not drive to the polling station, rather walk.

15. When leaving for the polling station, ensure that your house is well secure.

16. Keep your doors and gates well secure through-out the election period.

17. Stay in-doors and keep abreast by listening to news from TVs and Radios.

18. Never be curious into staying behind to wait to seeing the votes being counted you are not
an INEC officer.

19. Keep your election thoughts/opinions to yourself while at the polling station.

20.Avoid the use of cameras or taking of pictures of any sort while at the polling station.


Post-Election Days

1. Do not be used as a political thug.

2. Never be involved in political debates on who won or lost and why in public.

3. While on the road watch for road signs and avoid areas where youths gather into crowds.

4. Do not be involved in demonstrations of any kind.

5. Avoid road routes where demonstrations are being held.

6. Do not partake in any rallies of any sort.

7. Never be on the road alone in areas where the election results are not fully accepted.

8. Stay at home if you hear that the roads are not safe or that demonstrations are being
conducted.

9. Call your neighbour or colleagues that live around your neighbourhood for confirmation of road safety before leaving your house for work.

10. While on the road for the first 3 days after each election always drive/walk with extreme caution. Be vigilant not to be caught or entrapped into political violence.

Always remember politics discriminate, but bullets do not. They are not labelled XYZ, Yakubu, Olayinka or Okeke. Stay clear from political violence.

Whenever you are in doubt call for help from the bank Incident Management Team [IMT] or your local police officer
