Court Sentences Man To Receive 7 Strokes Of Cane For Stealing In Abuja

Gudu Upper Area Court in Abuja on Thursday sentenced a man identified as Naziti Ibrahim to seven strokes of cane for stealing two bags of cement.

According to report, one Hitman Eboh of Good Homes Estate, Abuja, reported the theft matter at Apo Police Station on May 19. Nongo said Ibrahim went to the complainant’s site where construction work was ongoing and stole two bags of cement valued at N4000, as a result the accused was later
apprehended after police investigation.

The judge who presided over the case, Alhaji Umar Kagarko, sentenced Ibrahim after he pleaded guilty and begged for leniency. He then urged the convict to be of good behaviour and desist from committing crime.
