Alleged Hacker Arrested For Stealing N68bn From Bank

Stephen Omaidu, a suspected hacker has been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for allegedly hacking into the database of a bank, stealing N68bn.

According to reports, the fraud suspect allegedly carried out his operation with four others identified as Alhaji K. B. Kabiru, Godswill Oyegwa, Ben and Oliver to transfer the stolen money into different
accounts. However, the four alleged accomplices reportedly escaped and were yet to be apprehended as at the time EFCC officials briefed the press.

The EFCC arraigned Omaidu before Justice M. A. Nasir of the Federal Capital Territory High Court sitting in Jabi, Abuja on two counts bordering on theft to the tune of N68bn.

The accused has however being remanded in the custody of the EFCC as his case has been adjourned till April 28, 2015 .
