24–Year-Old Unemployed Man In Court For Allegedly Stealing Indomie Noodles

One Chibuzor Ebele was earlier today arraigned before Magistrate Abiodun Etti of the Badagry Chief Magistrates’ Court in Lagos State after he was accused and charged with the stealing of six cartons of Indomie Noodles valued at N7,800.00.

According to the prosecutor, Insp. Innocent Uko:

“The accused came to buy something from the complainant’s shop.

“When the owner of the shop went to look for other denominations to balance the accused for what he had paid for, the accused took six cartons of noodles from the complainant’s shop into his car and ran away.

“The accused was apprehended before he could get away with the stolen items,’’

The counsel to the accused, Mr Tayo Bello, however, pleaded with the court to grant his clients bail since investigation into the matter was still ongoing. He assured the court that his client would not jump bail.

The magistrate, Mr Abiodun Etti, granted bail to the accused in the sum of N20, 000.He said that the accused must produce two sureties whose tax payment should be verified.

The magistrate adjourned the case till Jan. 26, 2016 for further hearing.
