Ben Carson Suspends Presidential Campaign

Ben Carson’s campaign has been flailing for a while now, unable to gain any traction in any of the primaries held so far. But he stubbornly trudged on, even when he failed to pick up any delegates.

After Super Tuesday, when eleven states voted and Trump won eight, Carson finally realised the writing on the wall.

“Even though I might be leaving the campaign trail, you know there’s a lot of people who
love me. They just won’t vote for me,” he told the crowded CPAC auditorioum in National Harbour.

“But it’s OK. It’s not a problem. I will still continue to be heavily involved in trying to save our nation.” He continued.

“I did the math. I looked at the delegate counts … and I realized it simply wasn’t going to happen. And if that’s the case, then I simply didn’t want to interfere with the process.”

It had earlier been announced that Carson would chair the Christian group My Faith Votes, which aims at getting Christians all across the country to come out and vote (Republican).

The Republican race is now down to businessman Donald Trump, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor, John Kasich. Trump is by far the frontrunner.
