Man Arrested For Attempting To Blow Up Italian Embassy After He Was Denied A Visa

A visa applicant at the Italian embassy in Accra, Ghana got frustrated after his application was denied, and tried to blow up the building in retaliation.

The frustrated man reportedly showed up with a gas cylinder and a lighter to blow the place up. The police luckily arrived to put the situation under control and arrested the alleged bomber. He
was reportedly infuriated because he was refused a visa and got into a misunderstanding with officials at the site.

“We understand he had a misunderstanding with the Embassy officials. When we came here earlier after the stone-throwing reports, he had left, only for him to return with gas and fire to attempt to carry out his threat”, Superintendent Raymond Aggrey Fynn, Head of the Counter Terrorism Unit of the Police Service, told the assembled media.

The incident happened on Friday, and the man is in custody helping with investigations.
