A man identified as Clark Fredericks who is now 50-years-old has reportedly murdered a former Boyscout leader identified as Dennis Pegg.
Dennis who was 68-year-old at the time of his death allegedly raped Fredericks when he was 8 years old until he turned 12 years old.
Fredericks was sentenced to 5 years in prison, which is the shortest possible time in state prison for passion/provocation manslaughter.
He will be eligible for parole in about nine months with credit for time served.
Fredericks told the court that he stood over Pegg and asked “how does it feel to rape little kids,” before he slit his throat.
Sussex County Assistant Prosecutor Greg Mueller and Judge Thomas Critchley agreed that evidence backed up Fredericks’ account that Pegg sexually abused him.
“I do not feel like I am sentencing someone who was committed to a criminal lifestyle. What happened to him as a child made him snap," Critchley said. “It is clear that Mr. Fredericks was exploited, abused and damaged by someone who was in a position of authority,” the judge said during sentencing.
