Senator Manny Pacquiao Set To Come Out Of Retirement To Fight
Manny Pacquiao fought a much publicised retirement bout against Timothy Bradley just a few months ago. He then went home and got himself elected into the Filipino senate to
serve his people.
The boxer is set to return to the ring later this year, Top Rank promoter Bob Arum told ESPN in a recent interview. It seems he has been eyeing the return for a while but his new political duties keep him away.
“Manny wants to come back,” Arum told Espn.
“The problem is he can only come back if it doesn’t interfere with his senate duties.
“We had penciled him in for October 15 at Mandalay Bay but we were informed that is no longer possible because he has to spend that week leading up to October 15 formulating the budget in the senate and doing the votes.” the legendary promoter told the site.
“So he has to be there for that week, so that knocks out that week. He can’t mess around with that. So now we’re looking at October 29 or November 5.” He added.
Pacquiao retired in April after pummelling Bradley, calling time on a hall of fame career, even if he lost his biggest fight to Floyd Mayweather. He was elected to the senate soon after, but it seems we would soon be watching a bona fide political figure fighting another man for sport.
