Ahmed Musa Arrested On Suspicion Of Beating Wife In UK

Nigeria and Leicester City striker Ahmed Musa has reportedly been arrested by British Police on suspicion of beating his wife, Jamila.

According to The Sun, Musa was whisked away by the authorities in the wee hours of Wednesday after being quizzed by police at his £850,000 five-bedroom home in Countesthorpe, Leicestershire.

It is understood that the officers swooped on his home in response to a domestic abuse complaint bare hours after Leicester City edged Sunderland 2-0 in their Premier League clash late
Tuesday.

Ten hours later, two plain-clothed female officers returned to his residence and took him away on suspicion of common assault after taking a statement from his wife and mother of his two young children, Ahmed Jnr and Halima.

“A 24-year-old man was arrested yesterday morning at his home address near Leicester on suspicion of common assault,” a spokesman for Leicestershire Police said:

A neighbor who spoke with The Sun said, “Ahmed is a nice guy. He always has a friendly smile. I don’t know anything about his private life.”

Another man on his street said: “You never hear noise coming from the house. I had no idea the police had been called there.”

Ahmed Musa became Leicester’s most expensive player when he joined them from Russian side CSKA Moscow for £16.6million in the summer of 2016.

But he has struggled for form, starting only seven league games this season before manager Claudio Ranieri was fired as the side battled the drop.

The Nigerian international was not part of the 18-man squad which beat Sunderland at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday.
