Air Peace Attacked By Robbers On Run Way In Lagos

Air Peace communications manager, Mr. Chris Iwarah who confirmed the incident which occurred at about 7.35 pm on Runway 18 Right (A1) of the airport on Friday, said the forced opening of the cargo of the aircraft led to delay in the
departure of the aircraft, as security operatives carried out a comprehensive search on the airplane before being allowed to depart the airport.

Twitter user @Sallyqueen17 who was on board the flight tweeted;

We are in Air Peace right now due to security issues. While we were waiting to take off, someone opened the cargo. We are not certain if the fellow dropped or picked something. Anti Bomb squad are on groud.

Well done to the captain @adesola82 , staff and crew of Air peace. Airline operators should be vigilant and work with NCAA to make our airports save for us. Though the delay affected our schedule but the wait was worth it because security is key

Here is Air Peace’s statement over the incident:
Recall that few days ago, it was reported that the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) did set up a four-man probe team to look into the alleged claim that the door of an aircraft belonging to Dana Air, was shaky while on flight and eventually fell off upon landing in Abuja.
NCCA made the announcement on Wednesday after one of the passengers, Ola Brown, made the claim in a twitter message.

Using his Twitter handle, @NaijaFlyerDr, he had claimed, “Flew Dana. Exit door was unstable throughout the flight. As we touched down, it fell off. Scary stuff.”
Senate President Bukola Saraki who said such incident is unacceptable, further disclosed that the Senate will take up the matter.
