Former National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Olisa Metuh, caused a stir Monday after he appeared at the Federal High Court in Abuja on a stretcher.

The former PDP spokesman is still facing trial in respect of the N400m he allegedly received from the Office of the National Security Adviser in 2014.

Given the condition in which he was brought in, the trial judge, Justice Okon Abang, had to adjourn the case.

After Justice Abang made the announcement, Metuh was taken to an ambulance of the National Hospital, Abuja, waiting outside the courtroom, Punch writes.

The embattled former PDP bigwig was immediately driven off in the ambulance shortly before noon.

He is set to return to court for continuation of trial on March 14, the day set by Justice Abang.
