Avengers: Infinity War Hits $61.8m To Top Box Office For Third Weekend

Avengers: Infinity War powered its way to the top of the box office with $61 million in its third weekend in theaters, easily besting the mom-themed fare. The Marvel-Disney superheroes’ mega-haul now stands at $547.8 million domestically and over $1.6 billion globally in its third week of release.

That includes a stunning $200 million from its massive opening in China this weekend.

That makes it now the fifth highest grossing film of all time worldwide, with room to carry on moving up the ranks. The blockbuster overpowered new comers including the Melissa McCarthy comedy Life Of The Party and Gabrielle Union thriller Breaking In, both of which were strategically timed to appeal to women on Mother’s Day weekend.
