Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously not taking his rivalry with Lionel Messi lightly as his sister has revealed that the Argentine’s name is forbidden in the Ronaldo household.
Both players have dominated the game for a decade, winning the ballon d’Or on five occasions each, and Ronaldo doesn’t want the debate carried
into his house.
The Real Madrid superstar is happy to let others quibble on regarding who is the best between the pair.
“We don’t talk about Messi inside the house,” Katia Ronaldo said in an interview with L’Equipe
“Cristiano knows that outside the door, there’s a whirlwind and he knows that, when he crosses the door from the outside to the inside he is protected. This is where he recharges all his batteries.”
Ronaldo refuses to slow down despite turning 33 this year, adding 43 goals to his haul for Los Blancos this season to power them to the cusp of a third straight Champions League crown.
He is currently tied to a contract at the Santiago Bernabeu until 2021 and his mother, Dolores Aveiro, believes her son can remain dominant until at least the end of that agreement.
She added in L’Equipe: “He’s very focused, in his own bubble, but he’s also very anxious. He plays the match out in his head, thinks about how things will happen.
