Judge Runs Away From Court Proceeding As Hudlums Storms Court In Ekiti
According to to reports, some thugs attacked the Ekiti State High Court on September 22, 2014, and disrupted the proceedings in a case challenging the eligibility of the Governor-elect, Mr. Ayodele Fayose to contest June 21 held governorship election.
The attack begun as judge, Justice Olusegun Ogunyemi declined an election application to set aside an order abridging the time for Fayose to submit his defence in the suit.
The Judge had moved the sitting to 12 noon so as to start on another similar
case but this time filed Citizen Popular Party before the thugs attacked.
As the Judge was on his way back, thugs besieged the court, but thanks to swift security, the Judge was smuggled out of the premise to avoid being lynched.
Officials ranging from lawyers and journalists had to run away for their lives as the protesters went crazy.
