Two Men Bag 12 Months For Stealing Ladies’ Clothes In Lagos

Two men, identified as Nuhu Sadiku, 25, and Tahiru Abdulahi, 30 who stole some ladies’ clothes, are to remain behind bars for six months each on the order of an Ogudu Magistrates’ Court in Lagos. The
sentence is without an option of fine.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the duo had pleaded guilty to the charge of unlawful possession of women clothes in commercial quantity.

Mrs O. Sule-Amzat, who gave the judgment, advised the convicts to engage in productive ventures instead of taking to stealing. She said the men should be made to acquire some vocational skills like basket weaving while serving their prison terms.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Sgt. Lucky Ihiehie told the court that the accused committed the offence on Feb. 5 at Mile 12, Ketu, a Lagos suburb.

He said the accused were caught with some ladies’ clothes at about 4.30 p.m. and that when they were questioned, they could not give a satisfactory account of the items.
