Burglars Attempt Robbing Wayne Rooney's Mansion While Playing His Testimonial Match

A group of masked burglars got busted as they attempt to rob England captain, Wayne Rooney whilst he was playing a testimonial match to mark his incredible career.

The gang hit Rooney’s Chesire £6m mansion Wednesday, at the same time he was appearing in his own testimonial game between his current side Manchester United and previous side Everton. They did not account for his high tech security system though, which caught them out almost immediately.

According to the Sun, the robbers set off his state of the art alarm system, leading to sirens and swarming lights turning on and making a racket, bringing police onto the scene.

“A helicopter and three police cars were in the scene in minutes – while police dogs were unleashed in the gardens.” the Sun writes.

One resident in the village of Prestbury, Cheshire, told the tabloid…

“Wayne has amazing security to make sure his wife Coleen and the kids are OK while he is away.

“It’s like a fortress. It was like something out of a movie with alarms shrieking and search lights flashing on.
